 S.A.O. Spol. s r.o., Lucenec - (short logo of Slovak Truck - Bus Repair
Company) was established in 24th October 1994 mainly of the former workers of
Novop joint - stock Company. Those days Novop was the biggest repair plant from
all plants of former Czechoslovak repair companies.
Former national enterprise and latter Novop joint - stock company had been oriented in offered
services to provide general overhaul of the buses KAROSA, type SL, SM, SD,
latter type 730 in all modification, and trucks mark LIAZ, with their components
also in all modification.
Building - up of plant was finished in 1973 and
gradually there were daily executed general overhaul of 2 buses, 5 trucks and
for example 15 engines, gearboxes, front and rear axles etc..
Till 1990 the
plant employed 700 workers. Nowadays, there are 200 workers, who beside
repairing, they produce various specific building (bodies) on the chassis of
trucks as well as buses e.g. vehicles to deliver any kind of individual goods,
furniture, race horses, foodstuffs, moving libraries etc..
Even in this
sphere S.A.O. as its fore - runners belong to a well - known producers in
Slovakia as in late Czechoslovak federation. Among well - known products of our
company rank for example escorting vehicles for rallye Paris - Dakar competition
or one of the latest products, a special air - bus serving air port
M.R.Štefánika in Bratislava.
As you see from these data, our company was from
its rises body - builder firm, which during two decades made more than 1000
specific vehicles or bodies, many of which even today serving our customers.
Also this fact testifies quality of our production and performed work.

Novop " as well as its successor S.A.O. Ltd. Is one of the largest plant of this
type in Slovakia.
As you probably know, the last 7 - 8 years show decrease of
demands to provide repairs, that is why our management was forced to seek
another manufacturing project relating the one in the basic industry.
As the
more perspective and advantageous manufacturing project we take manufacture of
the buses. This project was drawn to its successful point and already in the
year 1996 our product " City bus NOVOPLAN C 12 Slovakia " was displayed at
Autosalon'96 in Nitra, where it was accepted very positively as with branch
stuff as with layman community.
It received many appreciations, among which
rank " National prize for design'96, the "Town prize of our town Lucenec " etc..
In 1997 our company exhibited intercity version of the bus, also design project
of tourist version, in 1998 the first serial buses of city version, an ideal
project of the 15 meters long bus, which should replace articulated buses. At "
Autosalon Nitra'2000 " there was displayed the ideal project of tourist bus of
higher category and prototype - an 15 meters long city and intercity buses. At
"Autosalon Nitra´2001 our company displayed 9,5 meters long bus on the chassis
Mercedes Benz Atego, long distance bus on the chassis Mercedes Benz Vario and
long distance bus NOVOPLAN TC - 12 Slovakia.
Beside the testing manufacture
of the city series and intercity ones Novoplan 12, also above mentioned
development of the 15 meters and finished development of our new long distance
bus on chassis Mercedes Benz OC 500 higher standard, management prepare a
several new interesting projects.
The company has got the quality system in
