The Volvo B9 SALF (Side Articulated Low Floor) is an articulated totally low floor chassi. It’s been projected to facility the accessibility of the passengers. The B9 SALF can be used, for example, in cities where there is not physical space to build high plataforms. It features a 100% low floor configuration, allowing low large doors (exclusive advantage). The SALF technical capacity is around 160 passengers, allowing a good combination between seats and stand up passengers.It features updated chassis, sideward mid-mounted engine with 360hp power output and torque of 1600Nm, automatic gearbox, 30.5 ton of load technical capacity, disk brake with electronic control, electronically controlled air suspension and integrated electronic system with on-board computer. The B9 SALF is a Volvo articulated chassis that had been chosen to operate in Chile - TRANSANTIAGO SYSTEM where all articulated buses are B9 SALF. This project was based on low floor tested solutions that Volvo has in Europe cities and on articulated buses solutions that are working in important cities of Latin America. (kilde: Volvo Bus AB)
